Fake Card Info

It is easy for a buyer to be conned by the online purchase of credit card info. You see it all the time on the Internet. It is very important that before you make any transaction over the internet that you research and be aware of the fraudsters lurking on the web, and that you know what to look for. You do not need to be a genius to identify an impostor, but it is better to be able to spot one than to be taken advantage of.

The first thing to look out for when buying a credit card is the APR (Annual Percentage Rate). This is the interest rate that will be charged to you for your purchases. If you are paying more than you should be then you are going to pay for it with the fake card info. If you see APR in a card offer, it is probably a fake and is being offered to you to earn you credit card account numbers. They key to spotting a bogus APR is to check out the other things about the card offer.

Check the name of the issuing company. There are many fake companies out there using a name that sounds like they are reputable or trustworthy. It is always wise to check the background of the company as well. Remember to check for the following on the front of a credit card:

o Date of issued: fake cards will usually have a date of issue that is either late January, early February, or sometime in march. You should be wary if the credit card has been issued after this date. It is an impostor trying to get you to part with your money. Also, if the card is issued to a business, it could be a temporary card or an anniversary card. It is rare but can happen. If it is fake, it most likely has been issued many times and is just sitting there doing nothing.

o Amount: fake card info will often include the amount owed. This information can be used to charge your account or take money out of your account. Keep your eyes open for anything that does not belong.

o Expiration date: Most fake cards are made to expire within a short period of time. Usually, they will have the longest expiration date on them. If you see this on a card, keep very close track of it. This is the biggest way for a thief to make a quick buck. Most credit card fraud is committed when the victim does not realize it until it's too late. Stay aware of the dates on any cards you may be interested in and double check to ensure they are valid.

o Signature line: A common feature on a fake card is the so-called signature line. This is the area where the actual cardholder signs their name to verify they are the card holder. Never enter your own information into this area as you may be hit with a chargeback. Also, avoid using the name of your bank as this can give away sensitive information. Only use the name of the financial institution which holds the card, not your own bank.

o Expiration date can be misleading: When a fake card shows an expiry date it is actually just a lure to get you to act sooner rather than later. Criminals do not have the resources necessary to keep a card going for long. They will often replace the card before it expires. Once the card has expired, there is no way for them to retrieve your information. Keep an eye out for this expiration date and report any suspicious activity to your credit card provider. The sooner you act, the better your chances of recovering your data.
